How your attorney gets paid
When a lawyer takes an accident case it’s with the understanding that their client doesn’t have the same deep pockets that the insurance companies do. If your insurance adjuster thought you were paying for a lawyer by the hour, they’d drag out your case until you were completely out of money then reject your claim.
That’s why we represent most accident clients on contingency, which means there are no upfront costs, no retainer fee, and no hourly rate for you to pay. In fact, if we can’t settle your case or get you a favorable verdict, we don’t get paid.
If we recover compensation, the final compensation tally will include our fee. Typically, a contingency lawyer earns 33 percent of a verdict or settlement.
